View of the uppermost Devonian exposures in the quarry. The lower material is Coralville formation. It is overlain by the Lithograph City formation (State Quarry member). A few plant fossils of Pennsylvanian age may be found on the upper surface.

Here is one of ten Crinoid calyxes found on a single boulder from the Rapid member of the Little Cedar formation.

Typical boulder showing the myriad Atrypid brachiopods found in the State Quarry rocks.
